We measured 2,350 American funeral homes on the foundations an AI answer is built from — structured data, obituary pages, reviews, site health, and whether name, address and phone agree. Look yours up. Every grade shows the evidence behind it, so you can check our work rather than take our word.

What we left out, and why

1,214 homes we attempted are not in this directory. 172 asked crawlers not to read their site, and we honour that — grading a site on a refusal we agreed to respect would be a strange way to respect it. 1,041 did not answer us at all when we looked, which is a fact about that moment and possibly about our crawler, not a fact about the home. 1 we measured but cannot place: we read a home’s town from its address, and outside the United States we cannot yet read it reliably enough to print under somebody’s name. A failed measurement is not a bad grade, and we do not publish one as if it were.
