What the three free tools on this site collect, what we do with it, and who else touches it along the way.

Who we are

The Funeral Home AI Audit is a product of funeral.link, operated by Funeral Link LLC (5900 Balcones Dr, Ste 100, Austin, TX 78731). We build software for funeral homes; the tools on this site are free. This policy explains how we handle information collected through this site, where a funeral home can have its website read the way AI assistants read it, have its structured-data block written, and have its price page checked.

What we collect

Whatever you type into one of the three forms. The AI audit asks for your funeral home’s name, its town, its website, your name, and your email. The price page check asks for your home’s name, the pricing page or website to read, your name, and your email. The schema writer asks for the most: your home’s name, street address, city, state, ZIP, phone, and website, plus your name and email — because every one of those is a line of the block we write back for you. Most of that is your business’s published information; your name and email are the parts that are about you. We also collect basic technical usage and diagnostic data needed to operate and secure the site. We do not collect sensitive personal information through this site.

What we do with it

We run the thing you asked for, and send you the result. The audit visits your website — at most three requests, honoring robots.txt, identifying itself honestly as FuneralLinkAudit rather than pretending to be a browser — reads what the machines read, looks up your Google Business Profile, and asks an AI assistant the questions a family in your town would actually ask, to see whether you get named. That is why the form asks for the town. The price page check reads the page you point us at and grades it. The schema writer turns exactly what you typed into a ready-to-paste block. We also use your email to send the report, to follow up with you about it, and to tell you about what funeral.link makes.

Who else handles it while we run it

Two other companies are part of the work, and it is worth naming them. The question we put to an AI assistant goes to Anthropic — it contains your home’s name and town, phrased the way a family would ask it, and nothing else about you. Your home’s name and location go to Google’s Places API to find your business listing and its reviews. Neither of them receives your email address, and neither is given anything to keep.

Your report has a link, and the link is the key

A finished AI audit lives at its own page with an unguessable web address, so we can email you the link and you can forward it to a partner or whoever runs your website. That page is marked not to be indexed by search engines and it is in no sitemap or menu — but anyone holding the link can open it, which is what makes it easy to share. Treat the link the way you would treat the report. Ask us and we will take the page down.

Advertising and measurement

This site loads no advertising pixel and no analytics of its own — nothing here reports your reading to anyone as you go. What does happen is on our side, when you send one of these forms: our server tells Meta that a lead came in, which is how we measure whether an ad we paid for actually reached a funeral home. That message carries a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address — and your phone number, if the form you used asked for one — along with your IP address and browser, which is how Meta matches it to an ad you were shown. You can limit that from Meta’s own ad settings, and from the tracking controls in your browser or phone. The people this describes are funeral professionals asking us for a report. Families are never part of it: nothing a family or a guest does on any of our products is ever sent to an advertising platform.

What we don't do

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not publish your report anywhere we have not told you about, and we do not show it to anyone outside our team. The audit is honest homework: where it recommends something we sell, it says so plainly.

Sharing

We share your information only as needed: with the service providers that help us run the site, produce the reports, and run our advertising (such as hosting, email delivery, and the platforms named above), each under a contract requiring them to protect it and use it only for us; where required by law or to protect rights and safety; and, if the business is ever transferred, subject to this policy.

Retention

We keep your request and its report for as long as needed to deliver it, to answer you, and to maintain reasonable business records — a later audit is stored beside the earlier one rather than replacing it, so you can see what changed. Then we delete or de-identify it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of any sale or sharing. To make a request, email privacy@funeral.link and we’ll respond within the time applicable law requires.

How we protect information

We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards and limit access to what's needed to run the site. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care and will notify you and the authorities of an incident as the law requires.

Children

This site is intended for adults — the funeral professionals who run a firm. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children here.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected here, and the “last updated” date above will change.
